Day 6- the wedding bun

This one I like to call the wedding bun.  It is THE easiest formal hairstyle I know.  There are many other annoyingly beautiful formal hairstyles, but this one literally takes five minutes.  Remember day three?  It’s essentially the same thing only with a bun at the bottom.  You fold your hair over itself to get half of your hair up.  Then you take the fold further down your head… with me so far?  So in this picture, I’ve folded my hair over itself and secured it with bobby pins three times.  Because that’s how many folds it took me to get all my hair up from off my neck.  After that you just wrap your hair in a bun and bobby pin it.  Oh who am I kidding, just watch the video!

  1. I think that I am the only one that can not do this hairstyle, I love it I want to do it but I guess Iam not hair savvy. The big problem for me is the bobbi pin part, I can never get it nice and tight so the hair always falls. any suggestions?

  2. I absolutely love your hairstyles! I’m going to a wedding this Saturday, and this hair style would go perfectly with my outfit! I really want to view the video but it’s private :/ is there any way I can look at it?

  3. I need to see this video but it says it’s private!!! My birthday is in two days and I want to wear my hair like this at my birthday dinner, please make it un-private, please!!!

  7. Wow, now I get it! Thanks for such a helpful video! Can’t wait to go try it myself…oh wait, I need more hair. Maybe I can get one good twist in. Thanks! You are a good teacher. Linda E

  8. I LOVE this style the most! I rocked it today at an alumni event for my sorority today, and everyone loved it.. especially me! πŸ™‚ Thank goodness my hair is FINALLY this long, almost as long as yours. Can’t wait to see the upcoming styles!

  9. I am avid blogger. Well, in my own A.D.D. and O.C.D. way. Anyway, my daughter found your blog while she was reading my blog. She saved your page as one of her favorites. Today she tried this up~do (she is a cosmetology student) and it was adorable! Thanks for getting her more interested in blogging. God uses lots of people to bless our lives and some of them we never meet.

  10. So beautiful! This is my 1st visit to your blog and I’ll definetly be back. I was just about to chop off my long thick hair but after seeing your posts I’m rethinking it. Thank you for all the hair inspiration.

  11. Definitely a video on this one! It’s so cute. Plus since this style is basically an add-on to a previous style you did, you could probably do 2 in 1 for this video and save yourself some time! πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing!

  12. Guys guys, videos are a comin’! I will do my best to get videos up, and if they don’t come with the post- they will come soon. Probably right after the 30 days are over! I totally agree, they are much more helpful than written instructions!

  13. Abby, you should just start doing videos from here on out, and when you are done with the challenge then go back and make videos for the ones you have already done. Then you don’t have to worry about postponing your 30 day challenge. Anyway, just an idea πŸ™‚

  14. K guys, I have a video but I’m waiting to post it. You’ll see why. It will be on in a few-ish days. It’s so easy! You are all going to die! And thanks for the love, you guys make my day- seriously!

  15. So Beautiful. Please a video of the bun. I think I know what you’re talking about, but just want to make sure before I try it on my 5 year old. Also, I love how your blog is set up. Could you email me, and tell me how you did it, or who you used? [email protected]

  16. I just barley found your blog! And I love it!!
And I think your 30 day hair challenge is fantastic!!
For me, videos would be wonderful!! I am totally a visual learner!! And as one that has never really done anything exciting with my hair, sometimes the explanations dont make sense!!
Cant wait to see what your other hair styles are!
