Camping

This last trip we went on was with Brian’s family- the annual Smith family camping trip to the beautiful Beaver mountains.  We’re not luxury campers either.  We sleep in a tent.  We don’t shower.  We go to the bathroom on the forest floor.  We don’t have electricity.  It’s pretty much awesome- we’re hard core like that!  Luckily for me, I don’t wash my hair ever anyway- so it’s not THAT big of a deal!

Here are some pictures we took, I’ll post a smile box later!  I tried out the manual settings on my camera… not sure how fond I am of it.  My favorite looking pictures were on automatic… ha ha!

This is what he does ALL day long!

Day 2

He makes this face all the time!  When he wants to smell something, blow his nose, blow his “hot” food (yes, he blows his hot food with his nose ha ha) and when he wants to say any word with an M in it!!  Silly boy.  Sorry the picture’s a little blurry!

Fell asleep on the four wheeler with his uncle Zeek.

We rode the four wheeler for hours and hours and when we’d get off he’d scream to get back on.  When we wouldn’t take him he’d just crawl all over them trying to turn them on!  It was either a four wheeler ride, throwing rocks into the stream, or swingin’ his bat!

I’ll be back tomorrow with an awesome giveaway!!

  1. Just leaving a comment to say thanks for sharing your hair product list! I have armpit length (gross way to describe it ha ha) straight hair which is thick but very fine. I washed it every other day with whatever grocery store brand of the moment I was using, blow dried it and flat ironed it (while my hair is straight it would dry sometimes with crazy kinks or cowlicks that needed to be smoothed out). The second day I had to flat iron it again. The third day it looked terrible and I needed to wash again – sometimes I could pass with dry shampoo or baby powder but it didn’t look great and I only reserved that for days I was hanging at home or just running a quick errand. After reading your tips I decided what the hey I will give it a shot so I popped down to my local Ulta. Would you believe all the Redkin products were on sale?? So of course I took that as a sure sign I needed to try them out. Holy smokes! What a difference! First of all, I use less actual shampoo and conditioner and the bottle is way bigger than the store brands so I don’t think I am losing money there. I can let me hair air dry (no blow dryer needed)! I do flat iron the first day but do NOT need to flat iron the next day! Yay! AND I can definitely go a third day without washing! Haven’t tried a fourth day yet though. But seriously, so much better! For all those people wondering how you can go so long with washing tell them the product does make the difference! And the less heat styling I do I know will help my hair stay healthy longer. 🙂 Awesome awesome – thank you thank you!
Glad you had a great vacation – your little man is so cute!

  2. What a beautiful place. If I had a place like that to go camp I would go. I love camping but haven’t been in years. Looks like y’all had a blast.

  3. I am a BIG fan of your hairstyles!! I’m so good at doing other peoples hair but when it comes to doing mine? Ha don’t even think about it! Tutorials please? 🙂
