my bathroom re-do

Our bathroom is like.  Tiny.  So tiny I can barely function in there.  Have I mentioned I hate renting?!
Thanks to pinterest though I now have room to breathe.

This was the idea I was trying to copy

Obviously I can’t afford 6x $50 baskets!  And that wall must be seriously huge because those baskets are massive and deep and beautiful and… I covet them.

I ended up buying these lovely things for $6.00 each at KMart.  Who shops at KMart these days?  I do. Don’t worry about it.  Haha!!  I wish they were a little bigger but I had a really hard time finding baskets that weren’t too big.  So when I saw these I just bought them and called it a day.  We had a left over package of the cheap dollar shower curtain rings I used to attach the baskets onto the rods.

Do you like?!

I looove them!!  Nothing has fallen out yet, they’re at like, the perfect angle.

Then because I’m smart and awesome I figured out I could use the rods to hold my headbands! Ha ha ha!!  The top right ones are the ones I use to work out in and the bottom left ones are the ones I use to hold my hair back when I wash my face.  All my fancy ones will be displayed later!

Anyway.  Super fun.

Love you!

  1. I love this idea! Where we live we have an extra towel rack so maybe I’ll try it! Also, I was so excited yesterday because I saw you at the MBASA opening social! 🙂 I kept trying to come up to you and say hi….but its probably better I didn’t ever get the chance because I was feeling a little starstruck…haha I just love your blog and think you are a great person and a great influence in a lot of peoples lives so it was very fun to see you! 🙂 Maybe I’ll see you at another event and not be like a giddy schoolgirl so I could have a normal conversation with you. Your blog also makes me wish I had long hair so I could do all the fun hairstyles you post!

    1. Oh my gosh!! YOU BETTER COME SAY HI!!! I am nothing special. Promise. The blogs and pictures and all that jazz must make me seem much more special than I really am. Just a normal girl looking for as many friends as I can get!!

  2. I love this!! I don’t have enough room to do it though:( but I want to ago the storage with the shower curtain rod pushed against the wall side of the shower and hang baskets so it will hold all my shampoos n stuff. Cuz I sure have all kinds lol and as my baby is getting older she likes to pull them off the shelf or they fall off n smash your toes lol. I love all of your stuff!!

  3. Um, no friends in Provo?! I’m offended 🙂

Great use of space! These tiny bathrooms are tough, huh??

Oh, and how do you know Kayla? Just through blogging?

  4. smart! our bathroom has horribly designed cabinets so I never know where to put stuff.
(also, I just messaged your facebook page, not sure how often you log in to check it, but I couldn’t find your email 🙂 )

  5. I’m stealing your stolen idea for sure! This is super cute!!! And it’s good to know that you can do it on the cheap! We don’t have a Kmart here (BOooooo!) so I’ll be on the lookout at Hobby Lobby and the Thrift Stores for baskets! And I got a whole bag of various rings, hooks and such from curtains at an estate sale. Perfect!

  6. I LOVE this idea! We just moved to a new house and this house came with a TON of towel rods (way to many for any one bathroom to have…like insane amounts). They will never all be used (even if we had ten kids). LOL! This is such a great idea! I cannot wait to implement it! Thanks for posting! LOVE your new bathroom re-design!
