Braided Pompadour

This is one of my favorite “mom” hairstyles.  It takes a couple of minutes and keeps your hair out of your face and off your neck.  The shape of the hairstyle is really pretty and flattering.  It’s a great “I need to wash my hair but just don’t have the time” hairstyle.

I couldn’t get to a tutorial, so hopefully the step by steps are sufficient.

  1. You’re going rat/tease where you want your french braid.
  2. Smooth down and apply some product or hairspray to get the frizz smooth
  3. French braid the hair straight back.  As you braid your hair back, keep the braid loose.  You want a nice round shape.
  4. Secure the braid with two criss-crossing bobby pins.
  5. (optional) Pull sections of the braid out to make it look more full
  6. Pull the rest of your hair up into a messy bun

If you try this style out, use the hashtag #twistmepretty on instagram.  I’d love to see how you style it!

  1. Obsessed with this hairstyle! Can't wait to try it when my bangs are just a little too long and don't feel like washing my hair! Super cute!
