Sunday Patterns

SKIRT >>> c/o In Bloom Boutique.  A favorite staple of mine.  Top:: ae heels:: Macy’s bag:: c/o Lily and Jade

Entire outfit from target except the moccs.  And those I got on Very Jane before she was born 🙂
Savy and I wanted to drop by and say hello!  These photos were taken right before we left for church.  Brian gave me literally 45 seconds because he was worried we’d be late.  We weren’t.  I couldn’t resist though because… well, look at Savy haha!  I die.
I know you guys think I’ve fallen off the planet, but I wanted you to know that something special is coming up…
BAM.  Last time I actually did thirty hairstyles in thirty days.  And it was so hard!  Taking the photos, the videos, the editing, the posting, all in one day everyday for thirty days!  This time around I’m cheating and I’ve planned ahead.  Sorry but having that second baby ruined my spontaneity!  Nonetheless, the hairstyles are so amazing and I seriously cannot WAIT to share them with you!  None of them are repeats from anything I’ve ever done on the site or in EITHER book.  That’s right.  It’s awesome.
As I was getting the kids ready for church on came a primary song from my computer.  A small chorus of children started singing “A mother’s purpose is to care, prepare, to nurture and to strengthen all her children.  She teaches children to obey, to pray, to love and serve in the family.  God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be– This is how He shares His love, for the family is of God“.  I literally started crying, I have no idea why but it just touched me.  It made me so grateful to be a mother.  I feel like many women are putting a higher value on having a career than having a family.  As if having kids will ruin their success up the corporate ladder.  Well, it will.  But I just have to say that it’s totally worth it.  I have these two little souls who look up to me.  Who need me.  It’s my job to teach them about God, to nurture them, teach them how to serve and how to work hard.  And while there are times I want to smash my head into the wall, times when I wish I could have all the accolades a real job would provide, there are moments that make it all worth it.  Like when your little girl twirls around because you braided her hair so pretty and says “tank you mommy, I so pretty”.  The twinkle in her eyes and the huge grin on her face makes you feel so proud, like you’re doing your job right.  Or when you watch your little boy help his little sister build a tower with his special blocks. You watch him place a blue cube into her chubby fingers and her uncoordinated hands accidentally knock over his tower.  Instead of getting upset he just laughs and says “Savy it’s okay!  Let’s try it again”.  It’s in those small moments where you realize that these little humans you’re raising are going to grow up and become something great.  And it’s your job to teach them how.  Those moments are better than all the money this world has to offer.  The family is of God.  There’s absolutely nothing more important.
And because I just got home from church and it’s fresh in my mind, I thought I’d share with you our very favorite busy bags.  These are must haves when we go to church.  They keep my kids entertained and their little fingers busy.  The top three are for Savy and then Boston is four, so he’s pretty much happy with crayons and a coloring book, but that book at the end there is his favorite.

Button Snake

Pipe Cleaner Toy

Pasta Sorting
We’ve just thrown all the pasta in a bag with pipe cleaners instead of yarn.  It makes it easier for Savy.

Puzzle Book

^^^  That book is seriously THE best.  And you need it.  It’s foam and the puzzle stays together.  So you pull out the whole puzzle and then give your child a piece at a time and they fit it back into place.

I hope you guys have had a wonderful Sunday and we will see you in just a little bit.  Make sure you’re following me on Facebook, Blog Lovin’, or Instagram (@twistmepretty) so you know when the challenge starts!  MUAH
