The past few weeks have been nuts!  As soon as I’m able to spill the beans (and no, I’m not pregnant… or am I? haha jk) you’ll be the first ones to know!  It’s literally been one thing after another.  When those busy days or weeks come it’s important to have a couple quick go-to hairstyles up your sleeve.  I’ve found that if I have a hairstyle in mind before I hop in the shower it takes me half the time to get ready.  While in the shower I also figure out what I’m going to wear… is that weird?!  It seriously streamlines my morning though.  My mind is made up, I don’t waste time trying to figure anything out, and as a mom if I can squeeze in 15 extra minutes sometimes that makes all the difference.  I love how simple this braided bun/chignon is and how it takes less than two minutes to style.  It works with clean or dirty hair, curly or straight and you pretty much can’t mess it up.  Now that’s what I call the perfect hairstyle!

I filmed this exact tutorial last week only with straight hair.  For some reason the video didn’t turn out so I did it again today with curly hair.  Thought I’d throw in these pictures so you can see what it looks like with straight hair.  It’s still so cute, the texture just isn’t there.

We’re going to Disney Land next week and I bought a couple princess dresses for Savy.  She is obsessed with twirling around to the music that the little broach plays.  I got a couple dresses from Kohls and decided to spend the extra $8 for the Disney brand.  WELL worth it.  They’re much higher quality and that music box is seriously the cutest thing!  You can bet I’ll be blowing up your instagram feeds, so just know that you have been warned haha!!

Any tips or secrets I should know about Disney Land?  What are your kids favorite rides? xoxo

  1. RE : Disney World
It gets very hot. Drink a lot of water. It can be very tiring for little ones. Sunscreen a most. When you enter you can rent a power chair if you have trouble walking. Plan your day around rides that have air conditioning interspersed with the that are outdoors. Food is very expensive. They have cafeteria type places that are air conditioned. Take breaks. Some hotels are on the lake and make good rest stops. Bring bathing suits great place to rest and cool off. ( not sure if they still do this, been awhile since I’be gone with little ones.) I used to go on my birthday when we lived in Fl. If you can, stay a few days. Can’t do it all in one day. Wonderful place for all ages.

  2. I just love your hair tutorials! My question though- I read blog posts that you say you work out every day, and only wash your hair once or twice a week-I would love to get to this point! It seems silly to ask, but do you just wear a shower cap? I always find my hair falls out the edges and gets wet around my face, any tips? Also, is there a way you wear your hair for bed? I don’t like having my hair down, or in my face, but then I find my bangs get a little rangy!

  3. Thanks for this video! I tried this out on my hair and I didn’t really like the way it turned out-my bun looked kind of sad and small. So I braided the ponytail into 3 smaller braids instead of one braid and it looked much better, and it held up at work all day.

  4. I’ve heard of SafetyTat online where u can get a custom temporary tattoo with your name/ phone number etc for your kids. This would be good for your peace of mind :).
There are lots of Pinterest pins about how to do Disney with toddlers!
    Have fun!!

      1. This is lovely, so pretty and it looks amazing on you, is that your daughter? she’s so cute. Please can you do a hair tutorial for the Rockstar hairstyle in the ultimate hairstyle handbook please, it would just make it a bit easier.
        Amazing hairstyle!

  5. We actually just got back from Disneyland this weekend. Funny to think that a week ago we were there. We spent one day in California Adventure and two days in Disneyland. In California Adventure, cars land is the place to be. My almost 4 year old little boy and nearly 6 year old daughter loved that place! Oh, and fast passes are the way to go. California Adventure is awesome because you can hold as many fast passes as you want. There’s no limit. That is the one downfall to Disneyland, you can only have one active fast pass at a time. Our kids loved autotopia. We visited that place at least three times within two days. My daughter loved visiting the princesses, but waiting in lines seems to take all day. So you have to decide if its worth it. I thought it was for half the day. Elsa and Ana were three hour waits when we were there, so we didn’t get to see them. While my daughter and I saw the princesses, my husband and two boys went on train and monorail rides. They seemed to like that really well. My daughter also loved splash mountain… that’s worth getting a fast pass for. You have to be at least 40″ for that ride.

  6. I just recently started following your blog and now went through and watched your videos! Thanks for all the tips, I’m excited to trip some of them out! And PS-such cute photos of you and your daughter!
