Every so often you need to get dressed up and throw on those 4″ heels you can barely walk in.  There’s just something important about spending some time on yourself and feeling pretty.  It’s like a good workout — it does wonders on your mind!  This whole pregnancy thing has been pretty un-glamorous and I’ve not had much extra energy to spend on myself.  You really should see me when I drop off and pick up the kids from preschool… I’m positive if their teachers ever saw me with my make up on, my hair done and in something other than Brian’s baggy sweatpants they wouldn’t recognize me!!  Today I’m passing out the challenge to do something that makes you feel pretty.  Something that makes you happy.  Whether you spend five minutes and put your hair in a braid, paint your fingernails or just relax and take a bath — I can promise it’ll change your attitude for the day.  And what do they say?  When momma is happy?  Everyone is happy!

If you’re heading out on a super fancy date this Valentines weekend and want something bright and colorful make sure to checkout my gorgeous friend Jalynn from The Red Closet Diary‘s outfit and if you’re looking for something a little more casual, my good ole’ bestie Merrick from Merricks Art and her Heart Attack Outfit (I die).

The belly is sure getting rounder and a lot of you have been asking how this pregnancy compares to my others so I’ll be thinking and working on that! Nothing is better though, than when you’re at the gym doing squats and an old guy comes up to you and tells you you look like your ready to burst! Don’t worry friend, I have two babies in there so that should count for something right?! I’m pretty proud of this belly and just taking it one day at a time… only 123 more days haha!!

xoxo

  1. Hey Abby,
I LOVE your hair and outfit! I know you are probably very busy with everything that is going on and is soon coming! 🙂 But if you are able in the near future to put up a hair tutorial for this Dutch Fishtail Braid, I know many of your adoring fans would love that! 🙂 So excited for you and your hubby!! Thank you <3

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Some readers are pretty demanding so it was a breath of fresh air when I read yours, thanks! And I’m definitely planning one, so keep your eye out!

  2. You look gorgeous, Abby!! Do you have a video tutorial for the dutch fishtail braid? It’s so pretty!! I would so love to see one if you do not!!

    1. That’s a good idea! I wasn’t sure anyone would want one since I’ve already done a fishtail braid and this is so similar! I’ll get one up in the next few weeks for ya!

  3. You look so beautiful, but I wish there was a hair tutorial, or a link to one if you’ve done this one before. I love it! I think you are a gorgeous prego woman! 🙂
