My Babies are One!!! | Twin Birthday

And just like that my babies are one.  As I think back on this year, it’s honestly hard not to get emotional.  When I found out I was pregnant with twins I couldn’t believe it.  I cried my way through the entire 38 weeks, every day questioning my ability as a mom and wondering why I had been given this calling.  And then I met them.  And they changed my entire world.  They were everything I had dreamed of, everything I had been praying for.  And while I have never felt more overwhelmed and inadequate in my entire life, I’ve also never felt so strong and capable.  

When Kai needed attention, Coop was some how content.  And I know it was the Lord telling me that things were going to be okay and that I hadn’t been forgotten or left alone.  When Coop needed attention, it was little Kai bug who would smile at me and wave me on.  I feel incredibly blessed to have them in my life, to get to experience this amazing journey with them.  And most of all, I’m grateful for the things they’ve taught me.  For the beautiful spirit they’ve brought into our home and for the way they’ve brought us all together.

Kai Bug.  You are the happiest baby I’ve ever had.  You’re our little puppy!  You crawl around like you own the place, a little man on a mission.  You love pulling all the rags out of the kitchen drawers and making us chase you up the stairs.  I love finding you sitting in your basket full of toys, or when you play hide and go seek in the tent with Coop.  You are are determined and opinionated.  You are fearless.  Your wide gummy grin has a few new teeth and I love my little vampire baby!  You wrinkle your nose when your happy and you scream when you want your milk.  I can always get you to giggle by tickling your belly and your new favorite trick is swaying to music.  I love that you snuggle with your blankie, I love that you put yourself to sleep and I love how you rock on all fours.  You’re the sweetest little thing, so grown up but still my little baby.

OH Coopey!  My handsome little heart throb.  It takes you a minute to warm up but goodness gracious do you steal all the hearts!  You are so patient, you just go with the flow and try your best to keep the peace.  You were only a couple months old when you threw your first tantrum… Savy had taken away one of your little stuffed animals and you just cried and cried.  Since then you’ve mastered your technique, making your tantrums as dramatic as possible.  It’s literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!  You have THE best bed head, you love to wave hello and you’re obsessed with your Daddy!  You’ve worked so hard at physical therapy this year and we’ve been cheering you on from the sidelines.  I love that you still take a bottle before bed, how you let the milk dribble out of your mouth and give me a quick little smirk before pushing it away.  I love you little man, and can’t wait to see what this year brings for you!!
