The worst thing in the entire world is having nail polish that never dries.
And so you paint your nails late at night in hopes they’ll dry while you snooze… and then you wake up and it’s just all smudged? THE WORST!
Here’s a little trick I’ve found helpful.
Step one: Paint your first coat. Let it dry for just a second. You don’t want to stick it in the ice water while it’s suuuper wet. Wet is fine. Just not super… ha!
Step two: Dunk your fingers in icewater for one minute. My fingers start freezing at about thirty seconds. I pull them out for a sec and re dunk.
Step three: Paint your second coat and again, let it dry for just a quick second.
Step four: Dunk in ice water and let sit for one minute.
I saw this on Pinterest, and I wasn’t sure how it would work. I guess it really does work 🙂 This will come in very handy! One of my coworkers always has trouble with smudged nails.
Oh I just recently discovered the BEST top coat evah!!! It’s called Seche Vite. It’s a rapid dry top coat but rock hard. I got it at Ulta, by the OPI polish.
I painted my nails last Friday night and it’s now Thursday and I still don’t have a single chip. Scout’s honor! I swear it’s like a no chip job but without the price and without having to scrape my nails to get the stuff off!
All nail polish drying sprays are oil based so after the first coat you can spray, brush or dunk oil on your nails and they will dry much faster, no need to freeze your fingers.
cooking oil works as well as any other, so need to make a special purchase

okay wait. so if i use regular cooking oil it’ll do the same thing? that’s pretty awesome!! can i reuse the oil to cook later? he he
But not everyone wants oily fingers. I don’t do it for that reason. I can deal with the cold water. Great tip!
