Day 21- The Five Second Bun

IMG_9703

Hey guys! Did you love yesterdays hairstyle?  I loved it.  And last night I washed my hair and thought, “hmmm… I’m going to try something crazy”.  So I put my wet hair in two bohemian twists, all the way to the bottom, and slept in it. Thinking that when I woke up it would be these pretty curls. Nope.  Didn’t happen! I woke up to a full on fro.  It was pretty awesome actually. So I did what I normally do on bad hair days… and cleaning days.  I put it up in the five second bun!! I hope you guys like it!

xoxo

  1. The link for the video said it’s private. Is there any way for me to see this tutorial??? Please let me know ASAP!!! This would come in handy as I go without a shower for almost a week in Mexico. Thank you!

  2. I bought the ebook and couldn’t quite get the last part of the messy bun, but the video really helped. Now I just need to find some headbands that will stick like yours. Mine just slide right up…. grr. Also, I agree that your husband is the best for helping you out. Good job guy!

  3. YES! I’ve been attempting something like this with my own hair for years without actually seeking out advice. I’ve been stopping at the halfway then just banding it off and winding up with a top look that stuck up with messy sprays in only one direction. Not really what I was ever after but it got the hair out of my way. I did your technique this morning and FINALLY have something that looks better. Thanks so much for sharing. And kuddos to your man for taping it so you could share with all the anonymous ladies in the interwebs.

  4. Hey Abby! This may seem odd, but I would like to know where you bought those headbands – they look nice and stretchy. The ones I’ve found are so tight on me they totally give me a headache!

  5. I just came across your blog, and I’m looking forward to some hair ideas! I do my hair in this bun…almost every day. It really does only take 5 seconds, so I need to branch out! And I really appreciated your post about not feeling bad about yourself because there are so many awesome bloggers out there (I’ve definitely done that). Anyway, I’m a new follower and I really like your blog already! 🙂

  6. LOVE THIS!! I have had short hair ALL my life and until I had my baby My hair just grew like crazy and now it is long! I am a photographer and it gets hot fast on shoots and I am SICK of the same old pony and messy bun! You are a life saver! I cannot wait to start being creative with my hair!! LOVE IT!
