Just a little RSV

Some of you may have noticed my absence.  We are alive… barely!Boston got strep and RSV.

It was really sad.  He was so sick and just wanted to sleep all day.  Poor little boy.

But then Savy got strep and RSV.

And I’m not sure if it’s the difference between and girl and a boy, but she was honestly the most dramatic little thing I’ve ever seen!  We were taking her to the hospital a couple times a day to get her nose sucked… yeah, did you know they did that?  It’s kind of awesome.  Super sad, but pretty dang awesome.  They shove these tiny tubes up the babes nose and just vacuum all the snot out.  Because she couldn’t breathe, she wasn’t eating and because she couldn’t breathe she couldn’t suck her thumb, and because she couldn’t suck her thumb she refused to sleep.

Poor little girl.  I felt so bad for her.  And for me because I just had to hold her all day and all night.  And for Boston because he’s been so neglected.

Anyway.  I’m happy to say that we are finally coming up for air.  Boston is 100% and Savy is sure getting there.  She’s at least able to sleep- thank goodness!

Have your kids been sick?  This weather is enough to make me crazy!  I have cabin fever like you would not believe.  What are some fun things you guys do to pass the time?  There are only so many coloring books and activity pages we can go through in one day.  We’ve had dance parties… baked… made play doh… read stories… is there anything else?!

Bah!  The life of a mother I guess.  Hate it when the kiddos are sick.

  1. Savvy looks so sad! But she is so cute even with RSV and an ear infection. It’s nice to know that the hospital will suck out noses… I’ve been desperate a few times to be able to nurse when my babies are sick. So glad the kids are getting better. One thing my husband loves to do with our 18 mo. old son is make living room forts with the cushions, blankets, pillows, and some dining room chairs. He loves to play in the fort and it changes up the normal just enough to keep him entertained 🙂

  2. That is awful! We’ve had bronchitis, ear infections, and croup. I can’t wait for spring to come and get rid of all this sickness!!! To pass the time at home when we’re sick my two year old likes to throw balls in paper sacks that I’ve set up on the floor. It’s especially fun when she actually makes the shot.

  3. My little one is currently sick. It’s so rough! The good news is that she sleeps a lot, a whole lot right now. She has a fever and her little cheeks are pink from the heat. Makes me so sad. I just hold her and rock her and pray.

  4. So glad to hear the little ones are doing better. I can’t imagine having both babies so sick at the same time… moms can truly be underestimated. The more I think about my future and children the more I realize how perfect my mom was at making me feel better. I only hope to do that for my children. Now YOU just have to keep yourself healthy!

  6. My baby got sick too! It was just a cold, but she has had it for 2 1/2 weeks! She is finally beginning to act like herself again, but she took a few steps back developmentally which is super frustrating, because she has had therapy to help her catch up, but it is all slowly beginning to come back. Sick kids are the hardest! It is so hard to take care of them, then not sleep on top of it all!
