On Saturday I was able to attend the General Relief Society Broadcast and there was a quote given by Dieter F. Uchtdorf that really hit me.  He said, talking about our Father in Heaven,  “He is not waiting to love you until after you have overcome your weaknesses and bad habits.  He loves you today with a full understanding of your struggles”.  I think sometimes I’m my own worst enemy and I don’t forgive myself as easily as I should.  There have been times in my life where I felt undeserving of God’s love, for whatever reasons.  I yelled at the kids all day and couldn’t find an ounce of patience, or I started picking fights with Brian because I just wasn’t feeling fulfilled.  I know that Heavenly Father loves me and knows me and cares about me.  To hear it on Saturday night, out here in Ohio where I still feel completely detached from my life and quite honestly alone, it meant the world.  He loves you today with a full understanding of your struggles.  God doesn’t love me because I have it all together.  Because I’m patient with my kids and do super fun crafty activities with them all day long.  He loves me knowing that I make mistakes.  He loves me when I feel like I can do anything and He loves me when I feel like the world is crashing down.

I guess I just wanted to share this in case any of you are going through some struggle that just feels impossible to bear.  Instead of carrying the burdens on your own, share them with a Father in Heaven and a Savior who love you.  I know that I’ve been sent angels these past few weeks…  so many moms here have gone out of their way to show kindness, to offer a hand and be a friend.  At the end of the day I know that I’m not alone and that I have a Father in Heaven who is carefully placing people in my path that either I can influence or that can influence me.  I’m grateful to have an eternal perspective and to know that our trials are only for our good.  “If you want to give light to others, you have to glow yourself”.  Just know that you are loved, that you are needed.  You are a child of God and you matter.
