Day 8- the formal ponytail

**updated photo** Notice the ombre?  In retrospect I wouldn’t recommend… it was soo hard to get back blonde.

I love this hairstyle because, as you can tell from the video, it’s super fast and actually really simple.  If you spend a few minutes on pinning it right, manipulating the pieces just so, the back should have a straight seam.  And when you can get it like that it’s BEAUTIFUL.

Enjoy!

  1. Hi! I am your newest follower πŸ™‚ i found you through grosgrain she shared your bubble ponytail which i also love. I am in love with this hairstyle! thanks for the great video. I have long straight hair with side bangs too πŸ™‚ i am getting a hair cut tomorrow, around 6 inches off so i think it will be about the same length as your hair. I am also grateful i found this hair series because i am about to visit my mom and she always sighs at my frumpy hair. now she will have nothing to say!! thanks so much!! can’t wait to try all these styles πŸ˜€

  2. You guys are so sweet! I’m so glad you like it! And practice makes perfect! Sometimes, depending on what type of hair day I’m having, it takes me lots more than 4 bobbi pins! It’s really fun though! And Caley, I’m in love with howdoesshe.com! Been a fan for a long time!

  3. came from TT&J..I think? mmk love how simple and elegant this is! And I cannot believe you only used 4 bobby pins! I always end up using a bazilllion and it still doesn’t feel tight =T

  4. Thank you for the video’s they help so much. Even though the hair style is simply I could not get it until I saw it. So THANK YOU for taking the time to do them for us.
I love all the styles, and I am now inspired to grow my hair long again, I struggle to fix my longer hair, in ways besides pony tails.
And a quick question do you use bobby pins or hair pins?
I usually watch the videos with out volume b/c I watch while putting my baby to sleep.

  5. What a fun series! I really love the hairstyles you have done and am looking forward to the others. ( I found you through a linky party)
Also, this morning as I was getting ready for church I was just going to leave me hair down like most days but remembered your challenge to do your hair and I was inspired to do something. πŸ™‚ So thank you for the ideas and for getting me to do something with my hair. I can’t wait to see more and to try out these cute styles.

  6. I love your hairstyles. I have long straight hair too and I have a love hate relationship with it. It is all I can do somedays not to chop it all off. But then I would cry and grow it back. I know this too well out of many forgotten experiences. Older and wiser now. I am going to try out your styles. They look difficult but I want something pretty and romantic. I hate the I don’t have time to do it bun or the pull it back out of the way pony tail, which I do resort to both sometimes but HATE them. newest follower by hopefully 2 ways

  7. Hey Abby,

I LOOOOVE thi style. Thank you so much for posting the videos. I’m sure they must be a right old faff to do but they make it muuuuuch easier to follow what you’re saying.

I think I’m getting the hang of the ‘folding it over itself’ bit..after watching that part a shameful amount of times to understand what you’re doing!!
