Hair Transition From Summer To Fall

September of last year — right after we moved to Ohio — Savy (my 3 yr old) started getting this gnarly dry scalp.  It started off looking a little bit like cradle cap but it progressed into what I thought was ring worm.  We even took her to the doctor and had her checked out by a dermatologist because it was so terrible.  I was literally peeling off her scalp trying to massage the dry skin off and she was losing all her beautiful baby hair!

Turns out, it was dandruff.  A really really terrible case of dandruff.  Dandruff?  Sheesh, I had no idea dandruff could get so bad and to think it was totally preventable.  The doctors told me that I needed to use a special shampoo – and hers was bad enough it was prescription – and that I needed to brush and massage her hair everyday and that it’s normal for a scalp to become excessively dry during the season changes and winter.  I had let her dandruff progress into something that was almost unmanageable and I vowed to take better care of all the little tiny scalps in our home during the next season change.

Just like the skin on our body needs to be given a little extra TLC during the weather changes and winter, so does our scalp.  It’s common for our scalp and hair to get excessively dry and when it’s dry, it’s weakened and vulnerable to even more damage.  Hair’s natural resilience comes from it’s foundation, which is why you need a well-nourished scalp to grow strong, healthy hair.  Makes sense right?  The last few weeks we’ve been using the CLEAR Scalp & Hair shampoo and conditioner because it restores the scalp’s natural moisture balance and helps strengthen the hair by infusing it with a rich blend of nutrients and active botanicals.

You all know I’m one for expensive hair products, sometimes they really just are better.  But when it comes to the scalp, and hydrating the scalp, there’s really no need to spend a fortune.  My hair feels great and I’m proud to say we’ve not yet succumbed to the gnarly dry scalp.  I’m pretty dang confident it’ll skip this house hold this year!!!  So if winter’s dry air and chilly winds are wreaking havoc on your style, your scalp and hair are probably missing out on some much-needed moisture.  You can pick up the CLEAR Scalp & Hair at Walgreens and Walmart if you’re interested!

Good luck friends, and never let weather sacrifice your style!

  1. I’ve been using this brand of shampoo for awhile. I have thin fine hair that is prone to product buildup and for some reason dandruff shampoo is the only kind that will keep my hair gunk free. I don’t even have dandruff!
