eat your cake and share it too

Here’s the thing about cake.  It’s so hard to share!
Brian doesn’t like sweets.  Yeah… tell me about it.  So when I bake something I either eat it all or share it.  Cake is so hard to share!  Once it’s cut it no longer looks pretty… and it’s kind of embarrassing handing a family a chunk of cake.  “Here you go… we decided not to eat it all…” ha ha!!
As I was rummaging through my kitchen I found some disposable mini loaf pans.  And the light just went on.  What the heck I thought.  Might as well try it!
It totally worked.  And I was able to eat my cake and share it too!
What you will need:
1 Devils Food Cake Mix
3-6 disposable mini loaf pans (you’ll need six mini’s for an entire cake box)
6 oz Caramel Ice Cream Topping
14 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
8 oz container of Cool Whip
3 Heath Bars (crushed)
Whip up your devils food cake mix.  Follow the box directions
Divide your cake mix into either three mini loaf pans and an 8×8 baking dish
or 6 mini loaf pans.  Or whatever else size you prefer.
I reduced the temperature of my oven 20 degrees and kept the cake in for 20 minutes instead of 30.  I had the mini loaf pans and the 8×8 in the oven all at the same time.  When the cake comes out of the oven, make slits across the top of the cake, making sure not to go through to the bottom

In a sauce pan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping, stirring until smooth and blended.  Make sure to not use all your caramel topping as you’ll need some to drizzle over the cake at the end

Slowly pour the warm topping mixture over the top of the warm cake, letting it sink into the slits

Then crush up your heath bars.  I put mine in a few bags and just hit them with the edge of a cup.  I like mine a little bit chunky
Sprinkle the crushed heath bars liberally across the entire cake while still warm.  Save just a little bit to decorate cake with at end
Let your cake cool completely and top with the cool whip.  Then decorate the top of the cake with some more heath chunks and swirls of caramel topping. Refrigerate and serve right from the pan!

Now go bake a cake and proudly share it with your neighbors!
