Saying Goodbye to 2018 + Our Family Pictures Reveal

2018 Family Pictures

Can you even believe it’s already time to say goodbye to 2018?? I wanted to share our family pictures with you and wish you a Merry Christmas!! We hope you have had the most wonderful holiday season!

It’s been an incredible year for our family and I hope I never forget the amazing experiences we’ve had together. This is the time of year I start reflecting on things, like…

How do I need to improve?

How can I be a better wife?

How can I be a better mother?

While saying goodbye is hard, it also means that you get a fresh start! A fresh start to become the person you want to be. To be more organized. To have more patience! To make room for yourself or spend more time with your family.

2018 Family Pictures

Even up until this shoot for our family pictures, we have had an eventful 2018. From starting new ventures, new grades and welcoming a new family member…there is never a dull moment in the Smith household!

When we arrived to this cute little Christmas tree farm, we thought it would be sunny and nice out. But it started POURING!! Just our luck. We waited it out a bit and snapped these photos and I’m so glad we did! I’m honestly surprised any of them even turned out but these family photos ALWAYS end up being my favorite keepsakes!

Brian.

In 2018, Brian started working on a new venture.

We’re really excited to share more about it when the time is right. He’s the best husband and daddy– we all adore him. Even though we are loud, crazy, messy and make him do things he doesn’t want to do…he loves spending time with us and prioritizes us over everything else. He loves golf, BYU and funny BYU T-shirts.

He’s currently growing out his beard until BYU beats Utah, so next year I might have a husband who looks like he belongs on Duck Dynasty!

Savy.

Our little Savy girl started first grade this year!

It’s been hard to have her away all day but so good for her. She loves school, playing with friends more than anything and wearing fancy clothes. She is very particular about her outfits, hairstyles, the toys she plays with and how to play with them! She likes to be the boss of all things and we’re excited to see where that fire-y little personality takes her!

Kai and Coop.

The twins started preschool this year and they LOVE it!

They’re still causing more trouble than one can even imagine and we love them so much! They still carry those dang blankets around with them everywhere they go and Cooper decided a couple months ago he wanted to start sucking his thumb. So now we have three thumb suckers – it’s awesome haha!

They’re either fighting or best friends. Watching their little personalities grow and develop has been a unique experience for all of us. Kai loves food more than anything. He loves playing with Savy and tattle telling on his bro. Coop loves using his hands, learning how things work and driving trucks all over the house.

Boston.

Boston went into third grade and is doing so well in school!

He loves reading and math even though he’d prefer trading baseball cards (although, his entire school is still nuts over Pokemon). He’s got a thick binder where he keeps everything organized and in pristine condition! He loves sports, wearing athleisure and his cool new hard part hair cut.

He’s been to the oral surgeon several times this year and has had a lot of work done on his cute little mouth. We’re one step closer to getting rid of all those baby teeth! Boston is a really great helper who just wants to please and help out. He came with this sweet spirit and we just love him so much!

Wrigs.

Wrigley Smith is our baby golden doodle we added to the crew in 2018.

We love so much! He’s been a lot of work but we’ve had so much fun loving him. He’s officially potty trained which we are super excited about and he’s already earning more privileges in the house. He’s not waking up every couple hours like he was in the summer, so we’re very grateful for that.

He’s the sweetest puppy and he’s been good for giving our kids some responsibility!

Abby.

As for me? I started a company that’s been a dream of mine since forever!

I started Flourish which offers hair products like scrunchies, hair scarves and bow elastics. I love the Flourish Trio Interchangeable Curling Wand which helps women get the perfect sized curl for daytime or date night. Starting Flourish has been a dream of mine for the longest time.

2018 has been such a crazy and fun adventure! I’m still here creating content for the blog, YouTube, Instagram and fun branded projects! I feel very fortunate to have this amazing community to share my life, my stories, my business and my ideas.

I really do feel like the luckiest.

In the end…

Life is never as glamorous as pictures portray.

Raising kids is hard! Running a business is hard! Having a happy home and marriage is hard. Through every high and low (and everything in between), we have been incredibly grateful for our Savior. We couldn’t have had a great 2018 without our Savior who has lifted us up and given us strength to keep moving forward. One of my favorite scriptures is from 2 Nephi 25:26 that says,

“We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to me is my family and their faith in God. I truly believe that when you find Him — you find everything else.

I want my family to know…

Christ is the source of peace and happiness and that whatever trial may lie ahead– we can get through them. We hope we’ve inspired you in some small way this year! 2019 is going to be just as good as 2018! It will be just as hard and exhausting, and I’m sure we’ll all have new adventures that test our patience! New Years brings new resolutions to do better and be better.

In 2019, my focus is solely on making more room for Christ knowing full well He will make room for the rest. What will be your main focus in the New Year? Let me know in the comments below!

Merry Christmas loves and Happy New Year!

saying goodbye 2018
