Silver Beach, Michigan

We were able to celebrate the fourth of July in Michigan with Brian’s sister and her family.  They took us to Silver Beach in St. Joseph and it was honestly one of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever been to.  It looked like the ocean because it went as far as the eye could see, but it was all fresh water!  The day was perfect, it didn’t get above 75 degrees, and the sun was warm but not too hot.  I thought I’d just share some of the pictures we took and if you’re ever in Michigan, you need to check out this beach!

Boston and Savy love playing in the water

Happy summer times - activities for kids in Michigan

The babies weren't sure about the sand.

^^ At first the babies wouldn’t get off the blanket, it was hilarious!  They were so hesitant to touch the sand!

Family times. Abby holds the twins on the beach.

Kai concentrates on the beach.

^^  Kai reminds me so much of Boston!  He concentrates so hard and purses his cute little lips together when he’s trying to figure something out.

Playtime for Abby's family on the beach

The twins splash in the water.

Playing in the sand on the beach.

Like father, like son. Lying on the beach.

^^  These two.  They’re like two peas in a little pod.  This is one of my favorite pictures because it just shows their cute little bond.  Coop is obsessed with Brian, he loves him so much.  SO MUCH.  It’s so annoying!  When Brian leaves in the morning for work Coop just cries and cries, he loves his Daddy.  He’d sit with his Dad and just watch the kids play for hours if we let him!

Savy buries Boston in beach sand.

^^  My brave little six-year-old.  He’s so sweet and the whole time was just helping the smaller kids play safe.

Abby's husband and sons line up at the water's edge.

^^  All my boys.

Coop crawls in the sand and grins into the camera.

Have you guys found any unexpected beaches I need to check out?  I’m looking forward to when our kids are big enough we can start traveling a little more!  But I can wait, I wanna keep them this size forever 🙂

  1. Awesome – I am from west Michigan. Nice to see you here! Question: I’ve been looking for a summer hat similar to the straw fedora you are wearing. When I clicked on the link it brought me to the Gap page and it appears this is a baby hat?? Is that true? If so, does it work for you to help block sun? and which size would fit an adult? Thanks!

  2. If you’re in Michigan again you should definitely check out Saugatuck or Grand Haven! Those two are on Lake Michigan. On the other side of the state, closer to Ohio, there is a town called Irish Hills and it has TONS of beautiful lakes!
