Spring Into Me Time

Saturday was probably the most productive day I’ve had in a long time.  All of a sudden the sun came out and the weather got warmer and I’ve just had this extra spring in my step.  I mentioned on instagram how I haven’t realized how much anxiety I’ve had over this miserable Ohio winter until I was finally able to take the kids outside on a little bike ride.  Don’t worry, I walked haha!  But watching them play and explore and see all the neighbors come out and getting to meet the people who live near me has been… – well it’s like this huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I feel like somehow I’ll survive far away from home and family.

I picked up some magazines (People and Real Simple) on my way out of Target on Friday… momma needed more mini cadbury eggs! I was inspired by all the bright florals and pastels that I got out my bright pink lipstick and tried to harness the power of spring!  The magazines had great decorating tips and some spring wardrobe essentials that’ve helped me with transitioning all my winter clothes.

^^ Floral pumps – Check.   I can’t wear higher than a 3.5″ heel.  Pregnant or not.  If it’s not somewhat comfortable I won’t wear them.  Spotted these babies on Amazon, they’re the Seychelles Women’s Frequency Dress Pump — I can’t wait to wear them!

^^ Do you guys remember a month or so ago when I shared a few pictures from this formal living room?  Well I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy with it but it just was blah to me.  Then this weekend I added some bright pops of color, some floral print, flowers and few more pieces of furniture and now I’m totally in love with it.  There’s still a few things to add (like finding a bright coral lamp) but it’s definitely coming together and I’m really happy with it.  If that floral pillow looks wonky it’s because I haven’t made it yet and the fabric is just draping over the pillow form.  It’s the parrot bird panel from World Market (looks way cuter in person than online) that I’m going to chop up and turn into one or two pillow cases!

And to finish off all the inspiration, I even made a little gallery wall for the kids’ room.  I’m seriously on a roll you guys!!  And the gallery wall we put up a month ago took us HOURS.  It was the biggest headache and I swore I’d never make one again.  But gallery walls are like babies… they give you so much joy that you forget how hard the pregnancy was haha!! This time though I followed all of your advice you gave me on instagram and I literally put this wall up in less than two hours.  By myself.  Which is A BIG DEAL!!!  All frames but circle frame are from Target.  I give you – The RIGHT way to hang a gallery wall.

I need some command hooks for the circle picture frame and I’ve got to spray or do something with the S and the B but I’m pretty proud.  Don’t mind Savy’s bed…  Boston is the best little boy.  He makes their beds every morning because he knows how happy a clean room makes me.  I don’t have the heart to fix it up and we were doing this wall together, so… messy bed.  Cute though huh?!  I’ll make sure to share the finished rooms sometime before the twins come!

So how have you guys been inspired by spring?  What are your plans on kicking the winter blues?  Nesting and springtime really go well together, I’m liking this summer baby thing!
