5 Cute and Easy Workout Hairstyles

Have you ever wondered how to do your hair while working out? Even though we’re just going to get all sweaty, we still want to look cute doing it, right?! Plus, if we style our hair a certain way while we work out, we can rescue it for the rest of the day without having to wash it. If you want in on that, check out these 5 cute and easy workout hairstyles.

5 Cute and Easy Workout Hairstyles

Workout Hairstyle #1: Half Up with Claw Clip

For this style you’re using a claw clip to pull back the top half of your hair to give you that half up, half down look. I like this one when I’m lifting weights, but still working up a sweat because I don’t necessarily need my hair off my neck, but I do want it out of my face.

This is a go-to hairstyle if you want to salvage your curls or whatever style you have at the moment. If your hair gets sweaty underneath where it touches your neck, don’t be afraid to let it air dry or even blow it dry before you style it post-workout.

Workout Hairstyle #2: Boxer Braids

Boxer braids! This is a super cute and easy workout hairstyle. To make it easier to braid you can clip off one half of your hair while you braid the other, to keep each section separated with no chance of them intermingling.

Once my hair is braided I like to stretch out some of the loops to make the braids look bigger and also to make it looser on my scalp. Be careful of the direction your braid your hair to make sure you get the boxer braid and not the french braid. For the boxer (or dutch) braids, you will pull the outside strands underneath the middle strand, rather than over the middle strand.

Hopefully that makes sense! If not, you can watch the video I put at the beginning of this post for a quick tutorial.

Workout Hairstyle #3: Succession of Elastics

This hairstyle is what I like to call the succession of elastics. You start by pulling back the top layer of your hair and putting it into an elastic. Do the same thing with the next layer of your hair, combining that ponytail with the first one you made. Repeat this process until all your hair is pulled back.

Once my succession of elastics is complete, I like to stretch the hair out a bit, giving it that bubble ponytail look. I also pull out a little bit of the front fringe over my ears, making it look super cute and sassy!

Workout Hairstyle #4: Claw Clip Twist

This is another claw clip hairstyle. Start by holding your hair in a low ponytail and then putting your finger directly above it. Next, take the bottom of your ponytail and wrap it around your finger and then twist it through. Hold it all together with your claw clip. This one would also be easily explained through my video, so make sure to check it out!

Again, if you’re wanting to rescue your curls this is the perfect workout hairstyle. It holds your hair back and is well maintained, but it’s not too tight on your hair which keeps those curls in place. And we want those curls as long as they’ll stay!

Workout Hairstyle #5: Low Messy Bun

This style involves a hat! Where are my hat lovers? This style would be a great one for a hike or jog! Simply put on your hat and take a coil hair band and pull your hair back into a low messy bun. You can put it off to the side a little bit if you want. Then pull out your front fringe, so all your hair is showing in all the right places.

This is a super simple workout hairstyle. I like to keep my workout hairstyles simple and focus more of my time on the post-workout hairstyles. I know I love to do hair, but I can’t spend ALL my time doing it, right?!

The second I’m done working out I like to take my hair down and fluff it out. I turn the AC on in my car and try to get my hair to air out as much as I can. I even blow dry it once I get home if I need to. Once it’s completely dry, I style it from there. Dry shampoo is always a good go-to, especially if you try not to wash your hair more than once a week like I do!

I hope you enjoyed these 5 cute and easy workout hairstyles. Post your fav workout hairstyles and tag me on your stories @twistmepretty!! I’d love to see them!
